| Liaocheng Writing Brush has a long history. Still in the middle period of Ming dynasty, there were about 1,000 writing brush workers in Liaocheng. The first Number One Scholar of Qing dynesty, Fu Yijian just chose the excellent Liaocheng Writing Brush to hold his imperial examination in Beijing. Kangxi Emperor had also used Liaocheng Writing Brush to create articles and poems, and wrote a stele for the Guang Yue Tower of Liaocheng for the great reputation of the Liaocheng Writing Brush at that time. There are more than 200 kinds of writing brush in different sizes, including the largest “Zhuabi” which can write the biggest Chinese letters about one square meter and the smallest regular script “Yingtoubi”. According to raw materials, Liaocheng Writing Brush also can be classified into “Goat hair”, “Wolf hair”, “mixed hair”, “Qizi Sanyang” etc. which mainly follow “Weidanfa”—the mode of manufacture during Three Kingdoms Period. The outstanding characteristic is that elegant, durable, couple hardness with softness and strong absorption with four virtues of “sharp”, “orderly”, “plump” and “tenacious”. In 1955, Liaocheng Writing Brush won the first place in the same occupations of Shandong Province. Not only sells well all over the country, Liaocheng Writing Brush also sell well on HongKong and Japan. | |
